About ROUND ROBIN

ROUND ROBIN is a collaborative illustration project undertaken by Daniela Stijleva, Katy Wu, and Jennifer C. Chang.

It consists of three books, each centered on a series of fifteen illustrations that are connected through an "add-on" word game. Each artist takes a turn in providing a word inspired by the one previously supplied, until 15 two-word combinations are completed (ex. A+B, B+C, C+A). Each artist uses only words written by her counterparts as inspiration for her illustration. With each painting, the artist is challenged to create artwork on subjects outside her comfort zone.  At the same time, the artist can bring the power of interpretation and imagination to bear on the topic. Thus, each illustration in the book is connected to the previous and subsequent pages in a literal sense.
